Despite a one-year term duration left on their current sponsorship contract, hummel and German 2nd division team SpVgg Greuther Fuerth agreed to extend their collaboration for five more years. At least until 2021 the “Kleeblatt” (clover leaf), as the team is called by their fans, will work with the Danish sportswear specialist as their official teamwear supplier.

“This precocious long-term agreement shows the quality of our recent collaboration which is marked by mutual respect and trust”, stated Greuther Fuerth's CEO, Holger Schwiewagner. “We are very grateful for hummel’s trust in our club and of course we are looking forward to many exceeding and exciting jerseys and fanwear to come.”

Since 2013 hummel is the official supplier of SpVgg Greuther Fuerth.

“We are full of beans for this second period of our partnership with Fuerth”, said Jens Binek, CEO of hummel Germany. “We have a lot of ideas up our sleeves that we are eager to implement with the club. When it comes to choosing partners, it is of utmost importance for us to share the same values. This is an essential element of our company identity. Greuther Fuerth and its whole organization live up to these requirements, which makes them an ideal partner for us.”

About SpVgg Greuther Fuerth

Founded in 1903 in Bavaria the SpVgg Fürth started off very successfully in their early years. The club won the German championships in 1914, 1926 and 1929. After missing to qualify for the newly founded Bundesliga in 1963 the club went down to minor leagues for many years. In 1996 the club incorporated with another club, TSV Vestenberggreuth, to emerge as SpVgg Greuther Fuerth. The SpVgg was runner-up behind long term rival 1. FC Nürnberg in the 3rd division the next year, and so earned promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. In 2012, Fürth promoted to the Bundesliga after winning the league but went back down again after only one season. Since then the “Kleeblatt” is part of the 2. Bundesliga. The young team stands for an attractive playing style characterized by big effort, strong will and lots of passion.
